Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state legislator, shared a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) between August 30 and August 31, 2025, voicing strong opinions on political compromise and policies regarding mental health treatments in Minnesota.

On August 30, Hudson stated: "There's no co-existing with this. That's why I give no quarter to the idea that our problem is a lack of 'bipartisanship' and 'compromise.' You can't compromise with someone who demands your destruction."

Later the same day, he followed up with another post: "Spoiler alert... ... we win."

In the early hours of August 31, Hudson commented on mental health policy in Minnesota, writing: "I'll be signing on. It's absolutely absurd that we have a one-way 'conversion' policy in Minnesota. Banning the only way to align someone's mental state with their physical reality is cruel and has obviously resulted in harm. Shame on those electeds responsible."

Walter Hudson represents a district in Minnesota's House of Representatives. His remarks reflect ongoing debates within the state regarding legislative approaches to mental health care and conversion therapy policies. In recent years, states across the U.S., including Minnesota, have faced contentious discussions over restrictions or bans related to conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals. These debates often center around whether such practices are harmful or if banning them infringes upon personal or parental rights.

Hudson’s comments come amid continued polarization within state legislatures nationwide about social issues and bipartisan cooperation.
