Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on September 2 and 3, 2025, criticizing recent legislative actions in the state. Special sessions in Minnesota require significant coordination between parties and are typically called by the governor when urgent matters arise that cannot wait until the next regular legislative session. Governor Tim Walz has previously called special sessions in response to emergencies or pressing issues facing Minnesota. The process usually involves consultations among legislative leaders to set clear objectives before convening lawmakers.
