Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has used his social media platform to address issues ranging from air quality concerns in Minnesota to criticism of state leadership.
On August 1, 2025, Emmer posted: "Minnesotans are enduring some of the worst air quality in the world because of Canada’s poor forest management. The wildfire smoke is not just an inconvenience, it’s a danger. It’s out of control and the people of Minnesota deserve answers."
The following day, August 2, he shared a birthday message directed at the Vice President: "Happy Birthday, @VP! Hope it’s a great one."
On August 3, Emmer criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with the statement: "Tim Walz turned the Land of 10,000 Lakes into the Land of 10,000 Frauds."
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
