Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has posted a series of critical statements on social media targeting state and national political figures and policies.

On October 20, 2025, Emmer criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for supporting the University of Minnesota's ethnic studies initiatives. In his post, Emmer stated: ".@Tim_Walz, your support for UMN's radical ethnic studies pushing 'defund the police' & BLM propaganda in K-12 classrooms is shameful. Indoctrinating kids with far-left ideology isn't education—it's activism. Minnesota deserves better!"

Later that day, Emmer addressed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer regarding ongoing government operations and recent protests. He wrote: "Chuck Schumer is more concerned with impressing the clowns at the “No Kings” protest than with taking care of the citizens who elected him. It’s time to cut the nonsense and open the government back up!" (October 20, 2025).

On October 21, 2025, Emmer returned to criticism of Governor Walz in relation to allegations of taxpayer fraud in Minnesota. He posted: "RIDICULOUS! If more than a billion dollars of fraud on the taxpayers’ dime wasn’t enough, @Tim_Walz is admitting there is more on the way. And instead of taking accountability, he is blaming 'organized crime' in MN! Tim Walz is a scam artist!"

Emmer has represented Minnesota’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
