Tom Emmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of tweets between July 26 and July 28, 2025, addressing issues ranging from alleged fraud in state programs to international trade agreements.

On July 26, Emmer criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with the statement: "Failure and fraud: Two things Tim Walz knows a lot about."

The following day, he continued his criticism of the state's leadership regarding a public program: "The Housing Stabilization Services program was created to help vulnerable Minnesotans for $2.6 million per year. Instead, it turned into a piggy bank for fraudsters, who cashed in on more than $104 million in 2024 alone. This is Tim Walz’s Minnesota." The tweet alleges that funds intended for vulnerable residents were instead misappropriated on a large scale.

On July 28, Emmer shifted focus to federal policy and international affairs by praising President Biden’s administration: "The master negotiator has done it again. @POTUS’ historic trade deal with the EU rebalances our economic relationship and will benefit investment, innovation, and manufacturing in the U.S. for generations to come."

Emmer has served as Minnesota's representative in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. He holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and William Mitchell College of Law and currently resides in Delano.
