Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015 and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, has recently addressed several issues on his Twitter account, ranging from immigration enforcement to personal condolences for a late colleague.
On July 21, 2025, Emmer posted about increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in Minnesota: "ICE arrests in Minnesota have DOUBLED since President Trump took office. This is what happens when you have a President that supports our ICE officers, backs law and order, and puts American citizens first. Thank you, President @realdonaldtrump!"
Later that day, Emmer expressed condolences regarding the passing of Bruce Anderson: "Jacquie and I are extremely saddened to hear about the sudden loss of our dear friend Bruce Anderson. I served alongside Bruce for many years in the Minnesota House, and he faithfully represented our community in Wright County for many years. Our prayers are with Ruth, the" (posted July 22, 2025).
On July 22, 2025, Emmer commented on an incident involving border security personnel: "Over the weekend, an off-duty @CBP officer was shot in the face by two criminal illegals let into our country by Joe Biden. It’s time ALL Americans rally behind our brave CBP and @ICEgov officers working to protect our borders and remove dangerous illegals from our streets!"
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. He previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
