Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts highlighting recent legislative actions in the House and the direction of U.S. policy on digital currency and federal spending.

On July 17, 2025, Emmer stated, ".@POTUS promised to make America the crypto capital of the world, and today we delivered."

The following day, he addressed government spending: "The @HouseGOP is serious about getting rid of wasteful spending in our federal government.

That’s why we passed a rescissions package to stop $9 BILLION of U.S. taxpayer dollars from going to things like Sesame Street in Iraq and electric buses in Rwanda." (July 18, 2025)

Later on July 18, Emmer commented on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs): "A central bank digital currency goes against our American values.

Yesterday, we passed the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act to ban the Fed from ever creating one."

Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
