Eric Lucero, a Minnesota state legislator, posted a series of tweets in mid-July 2025 criticizing electric vehicle costs, Governor Tim Walz's administration, and Democratic policies.

On July 18, Lucero addressed broader political concerns about the Democratic Party: "Tis indeed the question! Will Democrats support even harder-core Socialists guaranteeing more fraud, more crime, more failing schools, more taxes, and more misery for all?"
