Tom Emmer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has been active on social media, sharing his perspectives on various political issues. His recent tweets cover topics ranging from law enforcement in Minnesota to legislative efforts and responses to terrorism.
On June 9, 2025, Tom Emmer criticized the management of Democratic governors in relation to law enforcement. He stated, "Minnesotans know all too well the chaos that ensues when Democrat governors FAIL to work with law enforcement to keep their citizens safe." He referenced the riots in Minneapolis during 2020 under Governor Tim Walz as an example of what he considers poor management.
Later that day, Emmer addressed legislative matters concerning financial regulations. He tweeted about the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act being incorporated into the CLARITY Act. He emphasized its significance by stating, "If you do not custody consumer funds, you aren’t a money transmitter. Plain and simple." Emmer expressed gratitude towards fellow representatives for their support.
In another tweet on June 9, 2025, Emmer commented on a recent vote regarding a terrorist attack in Colorado. He highlighted that "113 Democrats refused to condemn the antisemitic Colorado terrorist attack that left eight people injured last week." He contrasted this with the House GOP's stance against terrorism.
Tom Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
