City of Buffalo issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.
A gas leak is clear after a line was hit in the 400 block of 2nd St South this Thursday morning.
According to Buffalo Police, a gas line was damaged during ongoing construction, causing a leak. Buffalo Fire and Police blocked off the street in the 400 block while the leak was repaired. Buffalo Fire was able to determine that the only evacuation needed was for residents in the immediate area while the gas company repaired the leak.
Traffic on 2nd St S was already restricted to residents only due to ongoing street and utility work.
