Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing the economy, the U.S. Marine Corps’ anniversary, and the ongoing government shutdown.

On November 9, 2025, Emmer posted: "The economy was broken by Joe Biden and the Democrats. Now, @POTUS is fixing it."

A day later, on November 10, he acknowledged the milestone anniversary of a branch of the armed forces with a personal note: "As the father of a Marine, I am especially proud to wish the @USMC a very happy 250th birthday! We thank the brave men and women of the Marine Corps—past, present, and future—for their sacrifice to protect the freedoms we all enjoy."

Later that same day, Emmer commented on legislative gridlock in Washington: "The Democrat government shutdown has gone on far too long, causing needless pain for the American people. Glad at least some Senate Democrats finally decided to do their jobs. The time is NOW to reopen."

Emmer has served in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds degrees from both University of Alaska-Fairbanks (BA) and William Mitchell College of Law (JD).
