Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of tweets on August 28 and 29, 2025, addressing national negotiations and state legislation.
On August 28, Emmer responded to a statement from the Vice President by posting, "Well said, Mr. Vice President." Later that day, he acknowledged corporate negotiations with another tweet: "Congratulations and thanks to Google and Fox for your good faith negotiations!"
The following day, Emmer criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) regarding mental health policy in the state. He wrote, "Instead of helping solve the mental health crisis in Minnesota, Tim Walz and the DFL have exacerbated it with their 'trans refuge' law. They should repeal it immediately."
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
