Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on August 27, 2025, addressing concerns about violence and public discourse related to the trans community.

In his first post at 20:18 UTC, Hudson wrote, "This *is* a time for prayers."

Later that evening at 21:50 UTC, he expanded on his concerns regarding violence and online commentary. He stated, "I'm a bit more concerned about murder than mean tweets.

People have a right to be upset and note the reasons.

Our 'common humanity' doesn't require us to be door mats or stick our head in the sand, especially when the 'community' in question explicitly calls for violence."

At 22:03 UTC on the same day, Hudson continued his commentary by addressing perceptions of violent imagery associated with the trans community. He tweeted, "And lest you be tempted to say it's somehow unfair to cite a couple of examples of violent imagery and claim it's indicative of the entire 'trans community...'

... that t-shirt wasn't homemade.

There's a niche *market* for this sort of thing."

Walter Hudson has served as a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives since January 2023. His posts reflect ongoing debates over rhetoric and representation concerning marginalized groups in American society. The discussion comes amid broader national conversations about free speech, hate crimes, and political polarization involving LGBTQ+ communities.
