Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on August 27, 2025, criticizing Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey's response to a recent church shooting.

In his first tweet at 17:35 UTC, Hudson commented on the mayor's remarks following the incident: "This response to Frey's speech from this morning is warranted. Incredibly insulting remark from the mayor in the immediate wake of tragedy. 'This is no time for thoughts and prayers...' as he stands outside a church where people were shot while worshipping."

Later that day at 19:42 UTC, Hudson addressed the political reaction to the shooting: "They couldn't wait even one day to make it about guns. An ideology is responsible for today's horror... an ideology they support."

At 20:13 UTC, Hudson questioned Mayor Frey's reference to political inaction: "He must be referring to the inaction of his own party, which had two years recently to do whatever they wanted."

The tweets came after a shooting at a Minneapolis church during worship services. The event prompted public statements from city officials and renewed debate over gun control policies and political responsibility. Walter Hudson serves as a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
