Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has recently used his social media platform to highlight efforts by Republicans to reduce government spending and tout the benefits of new legislation for Minnesota workers.

On August 22, 2025, Emmer posted, "Two wasteful projects down, one to go." Later that day, he emphasized the Republican commitment to fiscal responsibility with another post: "Republicans ran and won on draining the swamp and cutting wasteful government spending. Another promise made, promise kept from @POTUS and @DNIGabbard!"

The following day, Emmer highlighted specific provisions in a legislative package known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill," writing on August 23: "Minnesota workers are the real winners in the One Big Beautiful Bill: - No tax on tips - No tax on overtime - Prevents a 19% tax hike for the average MN-06 taxpayer"

Emmer succeeded Michele Bachmann in Congress after serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
