Tom Emmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of tweets criticizing Democratic candidates and the media, as well as commenting on recent political developments.
On August 20, 2025, Emmer commented on an event organized by Omar Fateh, stating: "This is the least shocking news: There were almost no American flags at a @OmarFatehMN rally. Palestinian stickers were the main focus instead. That’s what you get when Democrats back a candidate who puts America last, hands out benefits to illegals, and pushes to defund the". In a follow-up post on the same day, he shared a link without further commentary: "https://t.co/GpKzfWNcDw".
Two days later, on August 21, 2025, Emmer addressed media coverage of former President Trump’s policies: "When will the fake news give President Trump credit for making America SAFE again? 0 homicides in the last seven days since President Trump’s federal takeover of D.C. 0 illegal criminals crossed our southern border for 3 consecutive months. This is exactly what Americans voted https://t.co/i28BTA7PvV".
Emmer has served in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
