Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, published a series of critical tweets on August 13 and 14, 2025, addressing crime in Washington D.C., the agenda of Omar Fateh, and transparency under Tim Walz.

On August 13, Emmer commented on crime and governance in the nation's capital: "D.C. Democrats have turned our nation’s capital into a cesspool of crime and corruption. Thankfully, @POTUS is leading where the Democrats have failed and making D.C. safe again."

Later that day, he criticized Omar Fateh's political priorities: "As if Omar Fateh’s radical, communist agenda wasn’t enough, he’s now saying that protecting illegal aliens is his top priority. If elected mayor, his absurd agenda will plunge the city even further into the chaos created by the DFL's failed leadership."

On August 14, Emmer posted another tweet referencing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz: "This counts as “transparency" under Tim Walz."

Emmer has been a member of Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. He previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds degrees from both the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (BA) and William Mitchell College of Law (JD).
