Eric Lucero, a Minnesota state legislator, posted several updates on his social media account in early August 2025, covering local political developments and offering commentary on law enforcement issues.

On August 6, Lucero congratulated a colleague by stating, "Congratulations to Michael Holmstrom Jr. winning the Republican endorsement for MN Senate this evening to succeed the late Sen. Bruce Anderson! I look forward to helping Michael win the special election and both of us serving the great residents of Wright County!" This message referenced the recent Republican endorsement of Michael Holmstrom Jr. for a Minnesota Senate seat following the passing of Senator Bruce Anderson.

Later that day, Lucero shared another post: "Great news!" The brief message was accompanied by a link but provided no further context in the tweet itself.

On August 7, Lucero commented on law enforcement and criminal justice issues in Minnesota's largest county. He wrote, "Attacking law enforcement and coddling criminals until her last day, leaving a legacy of failure and disservice to residents of Minnesota's most populous county."

Lucero represents part of Wright County in the Minnesota Legislature. The recent endorsement he mentioned follows the death of Bruce Anderson, who served multiple terms as a state senator representing District 29 in central Minnesota.

Minnesota’s most populous county is Hennepin County, which includes Minneapolis. Recent years have seen public debate over crime rates and approaches to policing within the county.
