Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of statements on July 29, 2025, addressing recent events and legislative developments.

In his first post at 17:11 UTC, Emmer expressed condolences regarding a recent tragedy in New York City: "Jacquie and I are mourning the four innocent lives lost in the tragic shooting in New York City yesterday. Please join us in praying for the victims and their families and for the law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities."

Later that day, at 18:20 UTC, Emmer commended grassroots efforts by Heritage Action and voiced support for new leadership: ".@Heritage_Action’s grassroots efforts have been pivotal to advancing commonsense, conservative principles in America. I have no doubt this movement will continue to grow and thrive under @4TiffanyJustice’s leadership."

At 19:39 UTC, Emmer highlighted legislative progress affecting seniors’ finances: "Did you know that thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, nearly 90% of Social Security beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income taxes on their benefits? This is HUGE for America’s seniors!"

Emmer has served in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. He previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961, Emmer currently resides in Delano. He holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
