Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, recently shared a series of posts on his official Twitter account addressing legislative developments and political issues.
On July 22, 2025, Emmer commented on the GENIUS Act and its implications for digital finance leadership in the United States. He wrote, "The GENIUS Act is a major win for American leadership in digital finance. But, on its own, it’s not enough. Later that day, Emmer extended congratulations to Rep. Andrew Garbarino for his new committee leadership role, stating, "Congratulations, @RepGarbarino! The committee is in good hands with you holding the gavel."
In another post on July 22, Emmer criticized Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison regarding state spending on benefits for undocumented immigrants. He posted, "Keith Ellison is using taxpayer dollars to ensure ILLEGAL ALIENS continue receiving taxpayer-funded healthcare, college tuition, and more. Just like his boss, Tim Walz, Keith Ellison cares more about criminal illegal aliens than law-abiding Minnesotans."
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
