Representative Tom Emmer, who has served Minnesota’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, recently shared several updates on legislative achievements and international policy issues via social media.

On July 15, 2025, Emmer highlighted his participation in an event with Americans for Prosperity (AFP), noting the significance of recent legislative accomplishments. He stated, "It was great to join @AFPhq today to celebrate the big beautiful WINS in our One Big Beautiful Bill. Awesome to see my constituent and current AFP staffer, Maria Voit, who has been leading the way to tell Minnesotans how this landmark legislation benefits them."

Later that day, Emmer emphasized public support for the same legislation among his constituents. On July 15, he posted, "Minnesotans support the One Big Beautiful Bill because they know it strengthens Medicaid for Minnesotans who need it most."

On July 16, Emmer addressed foreign policy concerns regarding Ireland's consideration of a Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) law targeting Israel. He wrote, "The BDS law being considered in Ireland is not only biased and anti-Israel, it also creates uncertainty for American companies operating in Ireland. Ireland should reject the BDS movement, for the benefit of their own nation and the rest of the world."

Tom Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. Before joining Congress in 2015 as Michele Bachmann’s successor, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
