Tom Emmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has been vocal on social media regarding recent political events. Emmer, who succeeded Michele Bachmann and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011, frequently uses his platform to express his opinions on current affairs.

On July 9, 2025, Emmer criticized Tim Walz for spending over $430,000 of taxpayer money in preparation for a House Oversight Committee hearing. He accused Walz of being unable to define what a woman is and labeled him as a "scam artist" who should be ashamed. The full tweet can be viewed here.

Later that day, Emmer commented on President Biden's physician, Kevin O’Connor, pleading the Fifth when questioned about Biden’s cognitive decline. He suggested that it was evident from video footage that Biden was unfit to serve as President. This statement can be found here.

On July 10, 2025, Emmer directed a cryptic message towards Karen Bass with the question "Really, then how would you explain this?" accompanied by two links without further context or explanation. The original post is available here.

Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. He graduated from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks with a BA in 1984 and obtained a JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988.
