Tom Emmer, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota's 6th district since 2015, has recently made several statements on social media concerning legislative issues and political stances. Emmer, who succeeded Michele Bachmann in Congress and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives, has expressed his views on immigration policy, law enforcement, and healthcare funding through a series of tweets.

On May 21, 2025, Emmer highlighted the efforts of over 60 Angel family members who signed a letter urging Congress to pass what he referred to as the "One Big, Beautiful Bill." Among those signing was Patty Morin, who shared her story about her daughter's murder by an undocumented immigrant. Emmer stated that "no one should ever have to endure" such tragedies.

Later that day, on May 21, 2025, Emmer commented on the arrest by ICE of an individual charged with vehicular homicide in the death of Victoria Eileen Harwell from Minnesota. He criticized Governor Tim Walz for his comparison of ICE officers to the "Gestapo," calling it an "unforgivable insult" and suggested that gratitude was due instead.

On May 23, 2025, Emmer addressed healthcare policy by noting President Trump's actions regarding Medicaid. He mentioned the elimination of Medicaid funding for transgender surgeries on children as part of cutting waste and fraud. He also criticized Democrats for opposing this measure, describing their stance as evidence of how "unhinged" they have become.

Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. He graduated from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks with a BA in 1984 and earned a JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988.
