Tom Emmer, a prominent figure currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 6th district, took to social media recently to express his opinions on President Donald Trump's administration and American politics. Emmer, who succeeded Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held a position in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011, has been vocal in his evaluations of political matters.
On April 28, 2025, Emmer tweeted a pointed critique regarding media coverage of President Donald Trump. The tweet highlighted Emmer's belief that Trump is "securing our border, putting our country first, and making America great again," while accusing mainstream media outlets like ABC, NBC, and CBS of being ungrateful and providing 92% negative coverage of Trump during his first 100 days, describing it as "shameful" ("President Trump is securing our border, putting our country first, and making America great again...").
The following day, on April 29, 2025, Emmer attributed significant job growth in Minnesota to President Trump's influence, calling March "the greatest month for job growth Minnesota has seen in the last year." Emmer contrasted this with the previous administration of Biden and Harris, stating their neglect of American workers, concluding, "This would not have been possible if you had been elected Vice President" ("You have President @realDonaldTrump to thank for this!").
In another tweet on April 29, 2025, Emmer endorsed Jay Feely for Arizona's 5th Congressional District, praising Feely as "the conservative choice" to succeed Andy Biggs. Emmer emphasized his acquaintance with Feely over the years and expressed confidence that Feely would support "the America First policies our country needs" ("See my statement endorsing @jayfeely for #AZ05").
Emmer, born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and a current resident of Delano, Minnesota, completed his undergraduate education at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in 1984 and earned his JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988.
