City of Dassel issued the following announcement on June 5.
Following much discussion and deliberation, the Red Rooster Committee and its Ambassador Committee, along with the City of Dassel, have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Red Rooster celebration. After considering the uncertainty of how to safely control social gatherings during the COVID-19 on-going threat, health and safety of our volunteers and economic uncertainty, this could be a very difficult and challenging effort. The Ambassador Committee, however, after meeting with the candidates and their parents, is making plans to have different summer activities and a change to the program and coronation. They will be following the guidelines and recommendations of the State at all times. Details to be announced.
