On May 11, 2025, Emmer expressed his gratitude towards the women in his life by posting a message for Mother's Day. He stated, "Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible women who have shaped my life—my wonderful wife and my amazing mom and mother-in-law." He extended this sentiment to all mothers, wishing them a day filled with love.
The following day, May 12, 2025, Emmer announced the release of Edan Alexander, described as the last known living American hostage held by Hamas. In his post, he remarked on the situation as "peace through strength in action!" He credited President Donald Trump for this development.

Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
