The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) encourages Minnesotans to purchase and consume locally over the holidays as Minnesota plans for phase two of the COVID-19 crisis.
Officials said by doing sales locally, citizens can help local eateries and other businesses by ordering takeout and curbside.
Eating locally is an easy way to support necessary businesses while having a savory meal at home. This will help businesses overcome the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The best way to help your local restaurants weather this time is by ordering takeout whenever you can,” said DEED Commissioner Steve Grove in a press release. “They need our support now more than ever.”
Hospitality Minnesota President and CEO Liz Rammer said hospitality businesses have been delivering happy memories to friends and families for many years.
“Help return the favor by supporting them with your takeout order today," Rammer said.
