CITY OF BUFFALO: City Center to Open for Public Access on Monday, May 18th

Opencome

City of Buffalo issued the following announcement on May 15.

Thank you to members of the Buffalo community for your patience during the time the doors to the City Center have been locked. We have been able to find solutions for most services handled through this office that allow for processing through our website and by email, and we also work with many residents and other customers over the phone. While we still encourage using these opportunities where possible for convenience and safety, the decision has also been made to open the doors of the City Center to the public for those wishing to interact with City staff in-person.

The City Center will open on May 18th for public access as needed, and we wanted to give everyone an idea of what you can expect to see for safety measures and limitations in place:

• Shields have been placed between the public and front-line staff.

• We have sanitation supplies and facemasks available to staff and public.

• Floor decals will be in place to show routes to take to allow for distancing between customers and staff.

• Signs are posted with information on distancing, recommendation and requests for people to wear facemasks when entering, encouraging use of the dropbox for bills, etc.

• Facemasks will be available as needed or desired for interaction

• A maximum of 10 people will be permitted inside the building, and doors may be temporarily locked and reopened as needed.

• Council meetings will be broadcast live on the City website and on the cable access channel 180 as usual. Due to limitations on participants being present in person, online comments are being encouraged.

Thank you again to everyone for your patience!
