City of Delano issued the following announcement on April 24.
The Delano Loretto Area United Way (DLAUW) has established the DLAUW COVID-19 Response and Recoovery Fund ("COVID FUND") to meet critical needs and support recovery in the Delano Loretto area in response to the COVID-19 VIRUS.
The COVID Fund will provide funds to unmet needs which may be food, shelter, mental health, domestic violence protection, childcare, transportation, and other needs not fully covered by government programs or other traditional relief sources.
While many valuable organizations are already meeting needs and may have fundraising initiatives in place, DLAUW will work alongside organizations to meet funding gaps and needs throughout the community.
** 100% of money donated to the COVID Fund will be used to help local community members and the Delano Loretto communities, as well as surrounding areas recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. **
