U.S. Congressman Tom Emmer, who represents Minnesota’s 6th district, has recently used his social media platform to comment on national political issues, including the government shutdown, immigration policy, and foreign affairs.

On October 8, 2025, Emmer criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in a post, stating: "It’s time to face reality: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is clinging to power, exploiting the government shutdown to bolster his fading political influence. His self-serving tactics are delaying paychecks for our brave troops, dedicated TSA agents, and countless".

Later the same day, Emmer addressed changes in immigration enforcement under the current administration, writing: "September 2024: 9,144 illegal criminals were released into our country September 2025: 0 illegal criminals were released into our country Turns out all we needed was a new President!".

On October 9, 2025, Emmer praised former President Donald Trump for recent developments in the Middle East and the release of hostages: "Nobody deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than President Donald J. Trump. The hostages are coming home, and peace is on the horizon in the Middle East! Thank you, President Trump! ".

Tom Emmer has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Michele Bachmann and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. He was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
