Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on October 3 and 4, 2025, discussing political polarization and referencing the events in Minneapolis during 2020.

In his first post on October 3, Hudson offered an early message to his followers: "Good morning. Here's your AM inspiration."

Later that day, Hudson addressed criticisms from the political left regarding the characterization of fascism. He wrote on October 3: "The Left is out there saying 'this is what fascism looks like.' Yeah. Well. Some of this 'fascism' in Minneapolis in 2020 would have saved:

$500 million in property damage

2 riot related deaths

288 riot related injuries

1 police precinct

300 police officers"

On October 4, Hudson commented on the current state of American institutions and societal divisions: "It's apparent we're in the midst a soft civil war, where our institutions do not have unified goals. This is not normal. How do we fix it?

The references to Minneapolis pertain to unrest following George Floyd's death in May 2020. The city experienced significant protests and riots resulting in extensive property damage, casualties, and impacts to local law enforcement infrastructure.

Hudson represents a district in Minnesota's legislature and has been vocal about public safety issues since taking office.
