Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since 2015, succeeding Michele Bachmann. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. He earned a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in 1984 and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988.
