Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state representative, posted a series of tweets on September 21, 2025, addressing the political climate in the United States and reactions to recent deaths of public figures.

In his first tweet at 16:59 UTC, Hudson criticized former President Barack Obama for increasing divisions among Americans. He wrote, "No modern president did more to divide Americans than Barack Obama. The proof is in the pudding. Before Obama, you didn't have people divorcing over politics, or abandoning friendships, or celebrating their fellow citizen's deaths. All take 90's USA over Obama USA any time."

At 17:07 UTC on the same day, Hudson offered advice to Democrats regarding their responses to Kirk’s legacy. He stated, "Free advice for Democrats. Claiming that Kirk deserves your response because he was terrible - sincere though we know you are - doesn't make good political sense. You're acting like he was Osama Bin Laden. The problem is... there weren't Americans lined up to mourn Bin Laden."

Later at 17:17 UTC, Hudson commented on reactions following Kirk’s death and compared them with Republican responses to Hortman's passing. He tweeted, "This is it, the core of everything we've seen since Kirk's death. Sheer unadulterated narcissism. Republicans condemned Hortman's death despite the fact she clearly accused us of terrible things. That's because, when someone else dies, the focus isn't supposed to be you."

Hudson has been an active participant in Minnesota politics and frequently comments on national issues through social media platforms.
