Tom Emmer shares organizational endorsements for stopgap spending bill on social media

Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, shared statements from several organizations on September 19, 2025, regarding support for a stopgap spending bill and the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026.

On September 19, Emmer posted a message from the National Cattlemen's Beef Association: “.@BeefUSA: ‘This stopgap spending bill affords the House and Senate necessary time to bolster crucial agriculture programs and enact key policies through the budget process. We urge lawmakers to swiftly adopt the continuing resolution.’”

He also relayed support from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), stating: “.@NAHBhome: ‘On behalf of the more than 140,000 members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), I am writing in support of H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026 that would continue to fund operations of the federal government including the’”

Additionally, Emmer quoted Unify US Official in support of H.R. 5371: “.@UnifyUSOfficial: ‘https://t.co/daRDds5bM9 strongly supports H.R. 5371, a clean, short-term continuing resolution that will keep the government open while Congress continues to work on a full-year funding package. Shutting the government down while this work continues is’”

Emmer has represented Minnesota’s 6th District since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
