Tom Emmer shares organizational calls for uninterrupted federal funding on September 19

Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, shared statements from several organizations on September 19, 2025, regarding the importance of continued government funding for veteran services, national security, and cybersecurity.

In a post attributed to Mission Roll Call, Emmer highlighted a call to Congress: “.@MissionRollCall: ‘Mission Roll Call calls on Congress to ensure uninterrupted funding for critical VA programs — including the Fox Suicide Prevention Grants, Supportive Services for Veteran Families, and Health Care for Homeless Veterans. These are lifelines for veterans and’” (September 19, 2025).

He also quoted Independent Women’s Voice (IWV), which advocated for passing a continuing resolution: “.@IWV: ‘We urge all members to pass this clean CR to prevent disruptions to national security, public safety, veterans care, and social safety net programs while bringing back fiscal responsibility.’” (September 19, 2025).

Additionally, Emmer posted support from CTIA regarding cybersecurity legislation: “.@CTIA: ‘We support the extension of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 included in the House of Representatives’ Continuing Resolution…This will ensure Americans continue to be protected from evolving cyber threats while Congress pursues a long-term extension of’” (September 19, 2025).

Emmer has served in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. He was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. Emmer earned his BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in 1984 and his JD from William Mitchell College of Law in 1988.
