Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district, criticized recent law enforcement policies and Democratic legislative actions in a series of posts on September 17, 2025.

In his first post, Emmer commented on the Hennepin County Attorney's new policy regarding traffic stops: "Just another anti-law enforcement policy from the worthless Hennepin County Attorney. This new policy will put lives at risk. Serious murderers have been caught thanks to “low-level” traffic stops. Now, Mary Moriarty wants these predators to roam free under another one of her" (September 17, 2025).

He followed this statement with a brief reaction: "Insanity." (September 17, 2025).

Later that day, Emmer addressed congressional voting patterns on public safety measures: "The @HouseGOP is voting for safety and security. Democrats are voting for more crime and chaos." (September 17, 2025).

Emmer has represented Minnesota’s 6th District in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Michele Bachmann. He previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011 and holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and William Mitchell College of Law. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961, Emmer currently resides in Delano.
