Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, used his social media platform this week to comment on recent political violence and to criticize Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
On September 15, 2025, Emmer posted: "A wife mourns her beloved husband. Two children grieve their devoted father. A vibrant, beautiful young family has been shattered, all because a vile coward chose violence over the discourse and debate that Charlie so courageously championed.

The following day, on September 16, 2025, Emmer addressed Governor Tim Walz’s leadership in two separate posts. In the first, he wrote: "Tim Walz’s leadership has left our state with a weak economy, failing schools, and skyrocketing crime. It’s time to vote him out this November to make Minnesota great again! https://t.co/7uqvO7786l"
Later that same day, Emmer added: "Tim Walz is a proven liar and a total failure. https://t.co/litPAOupJT"
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
