Joe McDonald, a Republican from Delano, was sworn in for his eighth term as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. The ceremony took place at the Capitol as part of the installation of the 94th Legislature.

“I’m both honored and humbled to continue representing the people of our area in the House,” McDonald said. “Every day, I’m reminded of the trust the people have placed in me, and I take that responsibility very seriously. My commitment to our community has only grown stronger, and I will continue to do my best to provide constituents with a strong, unwavering presence at the Capitol as I advocate for the best interests of our families, our businesses, and our future.”

During the first months of this legislative session, McDonald’s primary work will be in House committees. For 2025-2026, he will serve as lead Republican on the Legacy Finance Committee. He has also been assigned roles on both the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee and Elections Finance and Government Operations Committee.

“As we head into the 2025 Legislative Session, there is no shortage of challenges that need to be addressed. Our focus this session is on making smart, common-sense decisions that prioritize the needs of Minnesotans, from reducing the burden on local schools to cutting unnecessary regulations that stifle growth. Our goal is clear: to make Minnesota a better place to live, work, and raise a family. I’m committed to fighting for policies that empower our communities, ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently, and strengthen our state for future generations. It’s time to put Minnesota families first, and I’m ready to get to work,” McDonald stated.

Constituents in District 29A are encouraged by McDonald to stay involved with legislative matters or reach out with questions or concerns via phone or email.
