Tom Emmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota's 6th district since 2015, has shared his thoughts and prayers on recent events in Texas through a series of tweets. Emmer, who succeeded Michele Bachmann and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives, expressed concern for those affected by severe flooding in Texas.

On July 5, 2025, Emmer tweeted his relief that Representative August Pfluger's family was safe amidst the catastrophic flooding. He wrote: "Praise God that @RepPfluger’s family is safe. Jacquie and I are praying for all those affected by catastrophic flooding in Texas. Our hearts are with the victims and families still waiting desperately for news of their loved ones."

The following day, July 6, 2025, Emmer again took to Twitter to express gratitude that another colleague's family was unharmed by the floods. He stated: "Jacquie and I are thankful that @RepBuddyCarter’s granddaughters are safe from the horrific floods in Texas. We continue to pray for the families enduring this tragedy and for those working around the clock to locate the missing. May God be with them all."

On July 7, 2025, Emmer shifted focus to legislative matters as he celebrated a new bill aligned with President Biden's agenda becoming law. He tweeted: "There are wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill for every single American. @POTUS’ Make America Great Again agenda that 77 million American voted for in November is now the law of the land. Our nation’s Golden Age is only just beginning."

Emmer was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. He graduated from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks with a BA and later earned a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
