CITY OF MONTICELLO: As we set our sights on springtime, we’ve got some new improvements to share!

Spring

City Of Monticello issued the following announcement on Mar. 21.

Happy first day of spring! As we set our sights on springtime, we’ve got some new improvements to share! A new gate has been installed at the City’s compost facility. City residents will now need an access card to enter the facility. We will issue 1 access card per property address on request. Request forms are available on the city’s website at www.ci.monticello.mn.us/336/Compost-Facility, or you can contact Public Works at 763-295-3170 to obtain an access card. The Compost facility will be open starting in April.

Annual Water Tower Cleaning begins March 20! The Water Department is completing annual maintenance of the water towers in the City. This week they are cleaning the tower on the east side of town (at the top of the hill by Montiview Park). Residents in the area may notice a drop in water pressure and water discoloration while the work is being completed.

Spring Hydrant Flushing begins April 17! Every spring the City flushes out its water mains through the fire hydrants. This clears the water mains of sediment and minerals that settles in them over time. Staff also verifies that the hydrants are in good working order.

Spring Clean Up at Riverside Cemetery begins April 23! We ask that you please remove anything you’d like to save before cleaning begins. Arrangements can be placed in the cemetery when the cleanup is complete.

Spring Leaf pick up will be on Saturday, April 29! This is a free service for City of Monticello residents. Please have bagged leaves curbside by 7 a.m. on April 29. For more information visit www.ci.monticello.mn.us/Calendar.aspx
