Tom Emmer, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, recently addressed issues related to Tax Day and voter rolls in a series of posts on his social media account.
On April 15, 2026, Emmer encouraged Americans to file their taxes promptly, stating “Tax Day is here, and refunds are up! File today to see what you get back.” Later that day, he highlighted the impact of tax policy on working families by sharing an example: “Amber, a steelworker from Ohio, is just one of tens of millions of Americans benefiting from the Working Families Tax Cuts this Tax Day.”
The following day, Emmer shifted focus to election integrity concerns with a post directed at Steve Simon: “What is Steve Simon hiding? Turn over the voter rolls!”
Emmer has served in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, Emmer holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (BA) and William Mitchell College of Law (JD).
