Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of statements on his official X (formerly Twitter) account addressing current political events and criticizing both the Biden administration and Senate Democrats.

On October 17, 2025, Emmer expressed support for President Biden's foreign policy, stating, ".@POTUS campaigned on peace through strength, and that’s exactly what he’s been delivering."

Later that day, Emmer commented on the ongoing government shutdown and efforts to pass funding legislation. He wrote: "This is completely avoidable. There is a clean, nonpartisan funding bill in the Senate that would end this shutdown immediately. Senate Democrats have blocked it 10 times." The post refers to recent debates over federal budget bills and repeated stalemates in Congress regarding government funding.

On October 18, 2025, Emmer criticized a protest event and its participants with the following statement: "At today’s Soros-funded Hate America rally, we’ll see the far-left base that has Chuck Schumer cowering. The same base that supports Hamas terrorists, uses violent rhetoric like “fascists” and “gestapo," and is demanding the American people be held hostage to their demands."

Tom Emmer has served as a member of Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961, Emmer currently resides in Delano at age 62. He holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
