Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has recently taken to social media to voice criticism of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, focusing on government funding and Title IX issues.

On October 6, 2025, Emmer addressed Senator Schumer directly in a tweet, stating, "My message to Chuck Schumer is clear: STOP trying to score political points and open the government back up. Your selfishness is costing American taxpayers 400 million dollars a day in your attempt to fund illegal criminals’ healthcare!" Emmer also provided a link for further reading in a subsequent post the same day: "Read more here: https://t.co/aTVeIWoKRI".

On October 7, 2025, Emmer commented on state-level education policy, writing, "More than 100 school board members across Minnesota signed a letter urging state leaders to support Title IX. Knowing the difference between a man and a woman should be a requirement for the oath of office. Yet, we have a governor, @GovTimWalz, who doesn’t even know how to".

Emmer has represented Minnesota’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961, Emmer currently resides in Delano, Minnesota. He holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
