Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, recently posted a series of critical tweets addressing political opponents and current events.
On October 2, 2025, Emmer criticized Representative Ilhan Omar for failing to recall the name of Laken Riley. He wrote, "This is truly heinous. Ilhan Omar couldn’t remember the name of Laken Riley. Here is my reminder for her: Laken Riley was a daughter, nursing student, and friend who had her life stolen from her by an illegal criminal at just 22 years old. Say her name!"
Later that day, Emmer addressed another political figure with a fact-checking post regarding former President Trump’s AI videos and their reception abroad. He stated on October 2, 2025: "Quick Fact Check, Timmy! Trump’s AI videos aren’t scary to our European allies—you are! Your flamboyant personality commands zero respect on the world stage, and your comparison of our brave ICE agents to the “Gestapo” proves you are a total clown."
On October 3, 2025, Emmer commented on alleged campaign misconduct involving Omar Fateh. He tweeted: ".@OmarFateh's campaign was caught pushing a false DFL endorsement on his yard signs. If Fatah’s radical agenda wasn’t enough, attempting to deceive voters should make it crystal clear: Minneapolis deserves better!"
Emmer has served in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano, he holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (BA) and William Mitchell College of Law (JD).
