Walter Hudson shares personal and political reflections in recent social media posts

Walter Hudson, a Minnesota state legislator, posted a series of tweets on September 26, 2025, sharing personal anecdotes and engaging with ongoing political discussions in the state.

In his first post of the day, Hudson reflected on a recent experience with his family: "Overheard something this morning that reminded me of taking my boys to honor Melissa and Mark Hortman as they lay in state at the MN capitol. My eldest is more conservative than I am. And I assure you that's not intentional. I actually have to calm him down and play devil's" (September 26, 2025).

Later, Hudson raised questions about community programs in the Twin Cities area, writing: " What are the chances of similar fraud related to Twin Cities 'violence interrupters?' Based on my discussions with community members..." (September 26, 2025). This tweet references ongoing debates about the efficacy and oversight of violence interruption initiatives in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

In a subsequent tweet later that evening, Hudson commented on his participation in an interview for an upcoming Wall Street Journal story: "Just had a great interview with a @WSJ reporter working on a story about the #mnleg Civility Caucus. What is it? Does it matter? Will it help? My answers may surprise you. Look for the article next week." (September 26, 2025).

The Civility Caucus mentioned by Hudson is part of efforts within the Minnesota Legislature to promote respectful dialogue across party lines during legislative sessions. Violence interrupter programs in Minneapolis and St. Paul have received both support and scrutiny over their effectiveness in reducing violent crime.
