Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing government negotiations, leadership in civic initiatives, and support for law enforcement.
On September 23, 2025, Emmer quoted Senator Amy Klobuchar on the subject of government operations: “.@SenAmyKlobuchar: ‘Shutting down the government should not be a negotiating tactic.’” (posted at 17:41 UTC).
Later that day, Emmer reflected on his participation in a policy summit: “It was a pleasure to speak on the leadership panel at the Values Action Team Summit last week. I’m thankful for all VAT does to advance freedom, strengthen families, and create opportunity in America.” (posted at 20:30 UTC).
The following morning, he expressed solidarity with federal law enforcement officers: “Our prayers are with our brave @ICEgov officers.” (posted on September 24, 2025 at 13:09 UTC).
Emmer has served in Congress since replacing Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. He was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano. Emmer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and later obtained a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
