Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, posted a series of statements on his social media account in September 2025 regarding House GOP legislative actions and the ongoing appropriations process.
On September 19, Emmer stated, "The @HouseGOP voted today to keep @POTUS’ America First agenda moving forward. This brings us one step closer to returning to regular order for the appropriations process."
Later that day, he addressed the status of a continuing resolution (CR) sent by the House: "The short-term CR sent over by the House is completely clean. There’s nothing partisan about it. If Chuck Schumer wants to shut the government down and play political games, he’s going to have to own the consequences."
On September 20, Emmer commented on crime legislation: "With legislation that enhances @POTUS' successful crackdown on crime in D.C., we're keeping our promise to make America safe again."
Emmer has served in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously held office in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961, Emmer is currently a resident of Delano and holds degrees from both the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and William Mitchell College of Law.
