Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, has recently criticized both Democratic leadership and fellow Minnesotan politicians in a series of posts on his social media account.
On September 18, 2025, Emmer posted about Vice President Kamala Harris’s reported preference for Pete Buttigieg over Tim Walz as her running mate, stating: "Tim Walz was such a disastrous VP pick that even Kamala Harris admits in her new book she wanted Buttigieg instead—calling Walz too risky! This radical fraudster tanked her campaign. Now he's begging for MN gov reelection? Minnesotans deserve better!"
The following day, September 19, he addressed the outcome of a congressional resolution intended to honor Charlie Kirk. In his first post that day, Emmer wrote: "58 Democrats disgracefully rejected a resolution to celebrate the legacy of @charliekirk11. We should be coming together as a nation to honor an incredible patriot, husband, and father who gave his all for this country. Instead, the Left is doubling down on hate. It is truly"
Later on September 19, Emmer further commented on the vote: "Voting on the resolution to honor the great @charliekirk11 should have been the easiest YES in history. Yet, over 50% of House Democrats voted against it. This childish behavior fuels the surge in political violence that took Charlie's life and cannot be tolerated!"
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015 and previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. He was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently resides in Delano at age 62. His educational background includes a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (1984) and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law (1988).
