In a post on his official account, Emmer stated: "Republicans' short-term funding solution:

- Allows us to advance the America First agenda
- And serves the American people while we return to regular order

He included statements from organizations supporting the continuing resolution (CR). The American First Policy Institute commented: “.@A1Policy: ‘The only way to keep our country on the path to delivering the America First Agenda and meaningful change is for Congress to consider and pass a clean CR before the September 30th deadline. Continuing America’s comeback success means funding our government.’” (September 19, 2025).
Additionally, the Aerospace Industries Association urged congressional action as well: “.@AIAspeaks: ‘AIA urges Congress to pass this continuing resolution that will keep the government open, maintaining critical functions to protect national security, prevent delays in air travel, and allow innovation to continue.’” (September 19, 2025).
Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th District in Congress since succeeding Michele Bachmann in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds a BA from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.
