Tom Emmer, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 6th district since 2015, highlighted legislative efforts and national achievements in a series of posts on September 16, 2025.

In his first post, Emmer paid tribute to the historic "Miracle on Ice" hockey team. On September 16, he wrote: "The Miracle on Ice team represents everything our country is about: grit, determination, perseverance, and hope. Yesterday, we took another step toward cementing their place in American history forever."

Later that day, Emmer addressed concerns over public safety and upcoming congressional action. In a tweet dated September 16 at 15:43 UTC, he stated: "The American people are fed up with out-of-control crime. This week, the @HouseGOP will vote to ensure our capital city serves as a blueprint for law and order across the country."

Emmer continued his focus on Washington D.C., crediting President Biden for recent improvements in safety while calling for further legislative measures. On September 16 at 19:07 UTC he posted: ".@POTUS has had MAJOR success making Washington, D.C. safe again. Now it's time for Congress to solidify his historic success by passing legislation to restore law and order in the District of Columbia for good."

Tom Emmer succeeded Michele Bachmann as representative of Minnesota’s 6th district in 2015 after serving in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana in 1961 and currently residing in Delano at age 62, Emmer holds degrees from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (BA) and William Mitchell College of Law (JD).
